Description

Bioinformatics research

Bioinformatics is the research, development, or application of computational tools and approaches for expanding the use of biological, medical, behavioral or health data, including those to acquire, store, organize, archive, analyze, or visualize such data [http://www.bisti.nih.gov/]. Bioinformatics includes computational biology: the development and application of data-analytical and theoretical methods, mathematical modeling and computational simulation techniques to the study of biological, behavioral, and social systems. It is the science of the use of mathematical, statistical and computational techniques to extract meaning from biological, biochemical and biophysical data. Bioinformatics integrates concepts and methods from both mathematics and computer science with (molecular) biology and biochemistry.

Bioinformatics integrates disciplines and methods from both computer science and mathematics with biology and chemistry.
